Not sure what to say?

I went on a couple of ridealongs with John while he worked at MCSO.
He was rather quiet and soft spoken and he was a very professional officer. People respected John it seemed and trusted him. I never heard anything negative about him from other people. I am sad for his passing ...he will always be remembered as a kind and gentle soul

I remember John (Deputy Berg) from MCSO. I was an Explorer Scout in the late 70's with MCSO then. Deputy Berg was always seemed larger than life to me as a teenager. I know you'll miss him deeply.

I worked with his son, Derrick at Manchester's Beer Distributing. I know John was spoke of highly. We meet him at a family function yrs ago at his home in Sandy. Would love to hear from Derrick.. Prayers to all.

It's been 35 years that I worked the road with John before transferring to Portland in 1985 due to annexations. I too worked with Gary, and eventually Gary's son at East Precinct. John was someone all of us looked up to, and admired. Any one of us who had a question about anything, John was one to ask, and he always was willing to help out. I am very sad to hear of his loss, and will pray for his family and loved ones. Though it's been a long time seeing many of my great deputy family,...

John was one of the best deputies I had the pleasure of working with wile at the Sheriff's Dept. I only got to know and work with him for a little less than 5 years before joining Portland Police and working in the same precinct with his brother, Gary. John was very calm, compassionate and caring. He would be the type of officer or deputy police agencies are now looking to hire to improve community relations. Just an absolute all around great deputy and human being. Rest In Peace John.
