My memories of Uncle John go back quite some time. Visiting him upstate and at his cabin in Lake Snow were always a treat for myself and my siblings. He was the first person to introduce me to the Adirondacks of which I currently reside. His kindness and sense of humor will live on in my memory. My condolences to Annie and John, family and friends.

I remember visiting Uncle John and Aunt Sofie upstate growing up. They both were kind, loving and kept us kids on track! I have fond memories of Uncle John. He made you laugh and always had a good story to tell. My family sends our condolences to Anna, John, all the family and friends of Uncle Johh.

I have fond memories of the times Uncle John would come back to visit at Grandma Butwells. Even as a kid I thought he was so very handsome! He had such a sweet way about him. I enjoyed a nice conversation with him at a family gathering about 5 years ago and still found him a real sweetheart to talk with. Best to his kids, he spoke of you with pride.

My brother John had 3 older brothers, 3 older sisters, and 3 younger sisters. Surrounded by all that love, he became the "favorite"...favorite son, favorite brother, favorite uncle, etc. His charismatic personality was appealing throughout his life and he will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.

To the family and friends of John Butwell,
It was both a privilege and a pleasure to socialize with John in the early 70's when we were both married to our first wives. He was a most engaging chap and left a positive impression upon everyone with whom he came in contact. John was also quite handy around the house, a trait that I admired but could not duplicate. Please accept my sincere condolences on his passing. It is hoped that the memory of happy shared times together will...
