My condolences, I just ran across this. I worked with John at mutual of Omaha in the 80's

I wrote this about John 5 years ago:


Stalwart, stout and fully inured.
Framed, redone, not easily injured.
Skin of a rhino, mouth like a lion.
Conviction his mark from the King of Zion.
He hides his feelings under his mission.
Higher things are held, his good decision.
His mind is God's crock pot, simmering with truth.
He speaks and we're caught. Grace is the proof.
He should be known for more than his food.

I used to be a part of the singles ministry that John was over. He was such a funny guy!! Im so sorry to hear of his passing and will remember hi with a smile on my face. Rest peacfully John! Your in his arms now.


I worked with Chan in the pantry @ Calvary and
prayed for him during his illness. Have missed him since the pantry closed. We both served in the Navy so we were family too, so am so happy he is with our Jesus so we will see him again.

John was a great friend! He made me laugh because he had a very interesting sense of humor. I will miss John Chan until we meet again in glory with Jesus!

John was a good friend, a great man of God. He loved unconditionally and cared for so many around him. All the fun times will be remembered. We'll miss you John.
