Charles Duncan “Charlie” Vincent, 81, of Charlevoix, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday January 2, 2024, at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. He was born on November 23, 1942, in Youngstown, OH, the son of Frank J. and Julia (Janda) Vincent.
Charlie graduated from Boyne City High School in 1962, and was on the 1961 State Championship football team. However, he has since been converted to a supporter of the Charlevoix Rayders. On July 5, 1985, he married the love of his life, Dee (Smith) Vincent, in the backyard of her childhood home in Charlevoix.
Charlie worked at DURA in East Jordan as a forklift operator for many years, and finished out his working life driving truck for Wojan Window and Door. He enjoyed playing pool, meeting new people, and had a special love for animals. Charlie’s kind heart and giving spirit will leave a lasting memory with all who had the chance to meet him.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Dee Vincent; four children, Melissa (Jared) Goble, Jason (Meghann) Vincent, Carl (Tanya) McPherson, and Steve (Danielle) Vincent; seven grandchildren, Kylee, Kaden, Kendra, Jarod, Henry, Charlie, and Clover; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, George (Sylvia) Smith; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob (Wendy) Smith; his nephew, Kyle Smith; his great-nephew, Walker; and his great-niece, Hannah.
