Not sure what to say?

So sad to hear about Fenton. We became friends when he hired me in 1981 to help him and Harry build his first house in Whistler. He worked hard and played hard, and he was always smiling. Didn't keep in close touch after I left Whistler but whenever I would see him it was always a big smile and an enthusiastic "Heyyyy, Dougie-O", the nickname he had assigned me somewhere along the way. I'll miss never hearing that again. Rest in peace, Fenton.

Had not seen Fenton since our high school days. Always such a nice person! Sounds like he had a full and adventurous life. My condolences to his family and friends. Gone too soon! RIP Fenton.

Just saw this notice of the passing of a dear boyhood friend. My sincere condolences to the family.

Everytime, I walked out to the main door, he always reminded me "Come back with a story Haide!
Not a day go by, I dont think about you. I miss playing chess with you and bragging to you and say "hey Fenton I've found a great movie you might like to watch and ask him if he had tried this ice cream, food or restaurant before.
Thank you so much for considering me part of the family. Thank you for your word of wisdom. I never thought, one day you will be gone. I was thinking...

I have a lot of great memories - from skiing in Whistler to sailing from Kauai to Fiji, a great adventure for a "lakesailer" from Austria - to Fenton.I often think on special moments on the Pacific- we had a lot of stormy weather...and a lot of fun! There was a deep conection, I will never forget these moments with you!

Fenton I will forever remember your wonderful smile and spirit for life. The Friday Harbor crew comes to mind with the wonderful dock parties and empty bottles of rum hoisted up the masts. Will miss you dearly.

Fenton one of the happiest go lucky guys that I had to pleasure to meet and travel with lots of laughs! RIP Fenton what a fighter you were.Eggy

The 13 months I spent with Fenton on Jackfish from October '87 to November '88 were without a doubt the greatest adventure of my life. I will be forever grateful to have had this time with Fenton. I knew the trip down the California coast to Mexico then across the pacific to French Polynesia and the rest of the south sea islands to New Zealand would be a once in a lifetime experience - what I didn't know was how great an influence Fenton would have on me as a person. His calmness,...

One of my best friends, a special man plain and simple! Fenton and his entire family are such wonderful people I feel truly blessed to have spent many good times with all of them. Never once complained, one tough Saskatchewan farm boy!
God Bless
