Living with John and Shasta when I was 23 was quite an adventure. Lots of Stones playing and Shuffle Board till dawn. I was sad to hear of his passing. He was the most generous and likable guy you could know.

I was sad to hear of Johnny's passing. He would always greet me with a friendly "Hey Mark" when I'd drag something in the shop I'd tore up. He treated us like family. Great memories of a great guy.

One year Johnny Jim and I went to Canada on a fishing trip. I had a demo from rusty eck and we pulled jims ski boat. Jim and had all the paper work for the car and boat and we had our birth certificates. We drove all the way to the twin cities then we went to cross the border. The border guard ask for our paperwork and then ask for our birth certificates. John gave a sheepish grin and jim ask him what is up. He said for the first time he did not have a birth certificate. Jim ask what was he going to do and Johnny presented the border guard with a letter from his mom saying he was her child and a us citizen. The guard said go on.

Johnny and I lived together several times as bachelors. We lived with Roger at a house on main street and one fourth of july I told Johnny I wish I had a mustache like his. He went in the bathroom and shaved it off. I ask why and he said because he could and I couldn't and laughed. Then later when Christmas came around he gave me my present and I opened the small box and perfectly glued like his handle bar mustache was the mustache he had cut off and he said I told him I wish I had one so he gave it to me for Christmas and we all cracked up laughing.

John has been a friend for many years. We have lived together laughed together played together and shared many things only two good friends can share. I have been flooded with many of the wonderful things we did together over the years and it makes me realize Johnny was one of a kind. I will miss him but will never forget all the good times we racked up together over the 45 plus years we have been friends. RIP my friend. Norman
