We don't forget those people who so fundamentally enriched our lives, and I'll forever be indebted to John Garvey. When he entered my 7th grade study hall all those years ago and asked "Who wants to play a musical instrument? he, with great patience and encouragement, set me on a life long journey toward increasingly greater passion for and appreciation of so many forms of musical expression. JOHN GARVEY was a HUMBLE MAN and a GREAT Musician and Educator. I meet John back in 2016 and We Rode Together in his Mini-truck to Many Music Concerts. He was Proud of his Children and Grandchildren. Many of Them became Music Performers. He Loved his family Camp in INLET, New York;a PEACEFUL PLACE. I Played with JOHN GARVEY in the UTICA SYMPHONY Orchestra. Later in Life He had a COMBO that played at many SENIOR Centers. His Wife TRUDY was a Great Piano Player and Performed,also at Senior...

I just read of John's passing and want to express my sympathy to you Trudy, and to all your children and grandchildren. John will be sorely missed not only by his family but by the entire music community in which he was so respected.

It was always a pleasure to make music with you, John! Thank you for sharing your live with us!!

Thank you, Mr. Garvey for your patience, friendship and laughter. You were such a wonderful teacher and always made me feel as though I was better than I was.

Trudy, I am so sorry for your loss, but I know that his song will always play in your heart and mind. Hold onto the sweet melodies of all the wonder moments you shared.

Thank you Mr Garvey for everything you taught me. From classical, to jazz from opera to pop. You were always my favorite teacher.
