Dr. John Stuart "Jack" Gladwell

To the family of John gladwell, I wish that I could have met him for I think he was a cousin. I found his book and I am the great great grand child of Mary Salina Gladwell the daughter of Esteline (not related at all to JEB Stuart. .We also know his descendants). I wish I could have met my grandmothers family. After Esteline died when my great grandmother was no more than 9 she and her younger brother were sent to live with other families. Jack was inspirational, even to the very end. The manner inwhich he lived his life was one of dignity and grace. His illness took nothing away from his passion for living and learning. He will be sorely missed.

Please accept our condolences and sympathy on the loss of your father and husband. We are glad that you were able to be with him throughout his illness and at the time of his passing. May he now rest in peace.

I have many fond memories of growing up and spending time with Dr. and Mrs. Gladwell as a good friend of their daughter Jeni. Dr. Gladwell always had a smile and was interested in what was new in my life. I know he will be missed tremendously by his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Beth
