HODGINS, S. J. Father John F.
At the Jesuit Infirmary, Pickering, Ontario, on Saturday, September 9, 2000 in his 93rd year and his 74th of Religious life. Father Hodgins was the son of the late John Hodgins and Margaret Hayes. He is survived by his brother Dan of Portland, Maine. After his Jesuit training in 1943 Father Hodgins spent the rest of his life teaching at Loyola High School, Montreal. He was also Chaplin at the Montreal Convalescent Hospital for many years. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, former students and Jesuits colleagues. Friends may call at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street (south of Wellesley), on Monday, September 11, 2000 from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. at St. Ignatius Chapel Manresa Retreat House, Pickering, Ontario. A wake will also be held at the Loyola Chapel of Concordia University, 7141 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, Quebec, on Tuesday, September 12, 2000 from 2-5 p.m. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, 4455 West Broadway, Montreal, Quebec. Interment in the Jesuit Cemetery, Ignatius College, Guelph, Ontario at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2000. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jesuit Development Office, 47 Ranleigh Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M4P 1X2.
