Our family's deepest sympathies are extended to the loved ones of Johnny Johnson. My father, Richard "Richie" Bennett, joined the N.Y. Football Giants as a ball boy in 1955 and became friends with this wonderful man seeing him regularly at the stadium until my dad's retirement in 2010. My father's health prevents him from attending the viewing on Friday but he asked me to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family. Johnny Johnson started as the Manhattan College trainer two years before I was born. He took care of my teammates and myself as we went through Mahnattan. He treated my athletes when I coached there. He treated us all as though we were the most important athletes on the planet. So many of us have been so blessed to have known this man.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow "Jasper Maker" and the family at this time. Staff -- current and past -- are recognized, remembered, and prayed for. We are mindful of the service of these good men and women that comprise the Jasper "forge" that making us what we are.
