Dr John Henry Linner

Edina, Minnesota

Guest Book

Not sure what to say?

Dr. Linner was a life-long friend of our family and a man I had great respect for. God bless him.

Bill Card, Jr.

My memories of Doctor Linner are many. Being a nurse in the OR with him at MMC was always interesting (since 1970). I remember all those intestinal bypasses. His sacastic wit was sometimes a bit intimidating. He was so bright and funny. He was the BEST Master of Ceremony at our Christmas parties. Those of us that are still working, now @ HCMC are having fond rememerence of him. His family will surely miss him. He is now singing God's praise. I'm sorry to have to miss his funeral today. I'm...

Dr. Linner was a mentor to me early in my medical career. He was kind, compassionate, patient, a wealth of medical and surgical knowledge, humble, and elegant in the finest traditions of Sir Wm. Osler and the Mayos. His book on Navy medicine was excellent. May he rest in peace.
Evodia and the family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of transition.

Dr. Linner was one of the kindest persons I have ever known. I looked for both Evodia and him each Sunday that I worshipped at Mt. Olivet and they always were so genuinely happy to see me. My Dad pointed out to me that he did surgery on 4 in my immediate family and also my Grandmother and Aunt. Sending his wonderful family my love and condolences. Barbara Veker Elnes

John Linner was one of the dearest men I have been blessed to know, have as a friend, as my doctor, and occasional golf partner. His personal bearing and unending love of Evodia and his family created a public persona of dignity, nobility and caring. Though I had not seen him in the years since we left Rio Verde, he was readily available by phone to share memories, advice and the confirming stamp of a man with a life well-lived.

John was a fine man and a distinguished member of Svenska Sällskapet. He was proud of his country and proud of his Swedish heritage. His late wife Evodia was also a marvelous lady and John lived a charmed life. John was a gifted person who gave back to society generously. Svenska Sällskapet honored John as our "Swede of the Month" in September 2011 when he was 93 years old. I'm glad he lived to receive that award. "Skål" to John Linner!

I was blessed to have known John. I also got to witness the LOVE that John and Evodie had for each other. That LOVE in itself is a rare and a wonderful gift to witness! I will miss his smile that he always greeted me with. My prayers and thoughts are with Evodia and her family. God blessed you ALL with such a WONDERFUL role model.
