Pat and Maureen, My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, God Bless.

We didn't know you for long but you were a wonderful person. Gloria Campisi & Pete

To Pat & Maureen & the McElwee family: Very saddened to hear about the loss of your brother & son. Cannot imagine the grief associated with his loss at such a young age. Knowing your grace & kindness all these years reflects on the wonderful childhood you had & the love & support of your parents. Wishing you solace in fond memories and the grace of God with you and your family.

Johnny was a kind and generous boy who grew into a sensitive and caring man. He was especially sweet to my sister Jeanne, always greeting her warmly and getting down to eye level when he spoke to her in her wheelchair. My memories of Johnny often include a Broomall Little League uniform (was it the A's?), stick ball games in the street(until someone yelled, CAR!!), playing King of the Hill or sledding at our house, bike rides to the Tot Lot on our banana seat bikes and occasional long treks...

Memories of Fairview Road and growing up came crashing over me when I heard of John's passing. Friends come and go but memories last a lifetime. John, you were my friend and will continue to be in my memories forever. Mr. Mac, Col, Pat, Kath and Mare...my heart goes out to you. Rest in peace, John.

I was saddened to here of John's passing. Memories of the old neighborhood came flooding back. Sympathies to the McElwee family.

My deepest condolences to Ben and the rest of the McElwee family. John was a true friend and though we did not see much of each other in recent years, he was often in my thoughts.
Generous beyond measure, he would easily give whatever was asked of him.
John's passions were camping and fishing. I consider myself lucky to have shared some of these experiences with him.
Rest in peace my friend.
