Celebrating the Life of John Andre Norris
John André Norris was born on March 30th 1971 to the late Melvin L. Norris and Diane L. Norris in Philadelphia, PA. Close friends knew him as Andre, Dre, Aon or Skyleem. He attended the Philadelphia public school system and worked at Einstein hospital. He continued in the healthcare field until his health caused him to leave. André was a family man always putting his family first, he thoroughly enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He was a gentle man, kind, polite and willing to help anyone. All of these characteristics fittingly describe him. A real people person, full of charm; he could hold a conversation with anyone. Even through his illness he still found a way to put a smile on people’s faces. André loved to listen to music, dance and play games with his children. One of his favorite songs is “My Way” which is quite fitting.
He lived a full life in such a short time. It was a pleasure to sit and listen to his stories and he had many. His grandchildren especially loved his stories. He was a wonderful son, brother, father, grandfather, fiancé, cousin and friend. Full of love and affection; loved by so many he will be truly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father Melvin L. Norris. André leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Diane L. Norris, his brother Eric Norris, two sisters Mona and Darilyn Norris, two sons Tréquan and Maxwell Norris, three daughters LaMaya Barefield, Melanie and Samantha Norris, a fiancée Tyesha L. Miles, three grandchildren Maniya, Walter and Charisma Smalls, a nephew, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
A wish to all mothers, I hope that their last moment with their son is as sweet and simple as the one I am left with “I love you Andre”, “I love you more Mom”.
