JOHN ROSAS

John L. Rosas Electrician and WWII veteran, formerly of Hillside, 89 John L. Rosas, 89, passed away on June 7, 2015, in the Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, N.Y. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015, at 10 a.m. at The Church of St. Catherine of Siena, Hillside, N.J. Interment is at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, N.J. Funeral arrangements are by the Growney Funeral Home, (www.growneyfuneral.com), 1070 N. Broad St., Hillside. Born in Tuy, Spain, in 1926, John moved to the United States as a young boy, growing up in Bayonne, N.J. He left high school early to serve his country in the Army during World War II. Following his service, he completed his high school education. In 1959, John and his wife, Donata, moved their family from Newark, N.J. to Hillside, where he resided for the next 54 years, until moving to Cooperstown, N.Y., in 2013. John worked for Wagner Electronics in Livingston, N.J., as an electrician for many years. John was the beloved husband of the late Donata (Castanon) Rosas; devoted father of Donna Senchyshyn and her husband, Joseph; John Paul Rosas and his wife, Jenny, and Joe Rodriguez and his wife, Fabi; he is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph and Frank Rodriguez, Lisa Trever, Joseph and Michael Senchyshyn, and Jack and Nick Rosas, and great-grandchildren, Isaac, Isaiah, Joseph, Ellah, Madeleine and Adam.
