Not sure what to say?

Johnny Shumans was a man of music. He directed the Statesboro High School Jazz band. We played great music during my time there from 1975 to 1977. He had us attend a Maynard Ferguson concert that included the great Clark Terry. Magic. It wasn't till years later than a appreciated all the music he introduced to us.

My prayers are with you in the loss of Johnny. May you find comfort in the many years you shared. I fondly recall Johnny in the 80s as a bus driver and travel companion for the GSU Upward Bound Students. He was always full of life and joy. Peace and blessings.

Many great memories being in Mr. Shuman's Statesboro High Blue Devils Band. Prays of peace and comfort for your family.

Peace be with you, Mr. Shumans, and thank you for your support and encouragement throughout my high school years. SHS Band Alumni

I loved Mr. Shumans as my band director in high school. He was a very talented man and a great leader. RIP: Best Band and Drum Corp, Statesboro High School 1975!

Prayers and sympathy is extended to your family. We appreciated all you contributed to the students in Dublin. You were an inspiration. Rest in peace Mr. Shumans.
