John Eugene Southwood

Rita, Jerry, and the rest of the family. It was a sad day when we heard Gene had passed. It always seemed with Gene around, everything was good. I remember when Bessie, Mom, and Dad would talk about Gene there were a lot of smiles, and laughs. Mom never got over the basketball game Central lost when Hamilton, I believe, broke his ankle. I never told dad but I think she had a crush on Gene. I hope everyone else is OK, and I would sure like to hear from everyone.

I will miss you Gene. Many fond memories of the last time I saw you at my house for the family reunion. We always had so much fun. You were always upbeat and made everyone else feel better. My Mom and Aunt Helen loved you like a brother, especially growing up together. You will be truly missed no matter how far away we lived from each other. I love you and you will have a special place in Heaven. Love you, Gene. Gayle Young Wilkinson
