Joseph B. Amrhein Sr.

Joseph Bernard Amrhein, Sr. passed away peacefully at his Glen Burnie home on December 6, surrounded by loved ones. Joe was born in Baltimore to the late Rena and John Amrhein. After graduating from Thomas Edison Vocational High School, where he was a walk-on baseball player, he went on to specialize in automotive brake shoes and to manage body shops at Bob Bell Ford in Glen Burnie and Anderson Body Shop in Baltimore. After retiring, Joe earned a reputation as a historian during his 10-year service at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. A fierce advocate of customer service basics and first-come, first-served justice, Joe graced us with his life and is now served by the highest. Joe was the devoted husband of his high school sweetheart, Louise C. Amrhein, for 67 years (and counting). With Louise by his side, Joe progressively became Dad, Dog Dad and De-Daddy. They humbly received a governor's citation for 14 years of foster parenting. Over five decades, the eternal parents raised their biological and adopted kids, daycare kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and scores of lucky pets who found their home. Joe was predeceased by his parents, wife, and son, Bryan Keith. He is survived by his loving children Joe, Tony, Suzette, and Sulynn; cherished grandchildren Joni, Kristy, Cecelia, Cyndy Joy, Joseph, Heavynn Shy, Chelynn, and Faith, and his adored great-grandchildren Madasyn, Hailey, Philip, Madalyn, Madden, Kalani, and Kali. A visitation will be held on December 12th, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services P.A. in Glen Burnie. A memorial will be held in his honor on December 13th at 10:00AM in the funeral home chapel.
