So sorry for your loss. I was a classmate of Joe's. We were in a senior play together.

Because I know my Dear Friend and classmate Joe has arrived in heaven with God now, I dedicate the following song from the past to him....

(It is sung to the Tech High School fight song melody)

Heaven will shine tonight,
Heaven will shine,
Heaven will shine tonight,
'Cause Joe has arrived.
When the sun comes up, and the moon goes down,
Heaven will shine.

To you Michel, and the entire family, I want to share the following prayer.

Dr. Caniglia was such an inspiration to everyone who ever met him. The passion he had for his work was so contagious. As a former student of his, I know that a piece of him will live on in all of his students forever. My thoughts and prayers to his family. He will be missed by so many.

Dr. Caniglia was an influential part in my becoming a speech-language pathologist. He taught me so much about neurology and dysphagia, but more importantly he taught me about compassion and caring and taking time to listen, and providing encouragement. And telling jokes and having fun! He always had an "extra credit" question on tests that were some sort of joke or pun. He cared about us as students, and even cooked sausage and peppers for us when we all invaded his house for...

Dr. Caniglia was a wonderful man. I learned so much from him as his student at UNO. He was an inspiration to me and my 13 years of practice are full of what he taught me! Thanks Dr. Caniglia!
