I have just learned of Joe's death and am very saddened by his passing. I had the pleasure of being associated with him at Freeport Minerals Company, Freeport Queensland Nickel, Inc., Freeport Gold Company and Pittston Coal Company. Our family will never forget Joe Farrell. We loved his wit and sense of humor but most of all his love for our sister. Joe changed her life, brought fun and adventure to her life and showed her the world. Thank you for your timed served to this country and to the Commonwealth of Virginia. You will be missed but never forgotten.

While I did not have the honor of knowing or serving with Mr. Farrell, he is a navy and submarine brother. Thank you for your service to your country sir, and now sailor you have eternal fair winds and following seas. We send our condolences to his family.
