I will always remember the wonderful times I had at your home.The many nights I spend sitting with the gang around your kitchen table drinking coffee with you while Joe tried to make us a million things to eat still leaves a smile on my face.I always felt like one of the family. Our deepest condolences go out to you and your family. We were shocked when we read of your loss in the paper today.
I am not sure if you would remember our mother, Betty Bond (which passed away in 2002). When we were kids, we had grape juice all over our shirts and that day, she sent us back to your store and we got change back for the grapes.

I was checking the death notices for Malden for deaths of men that I worked with on the Fire Department for 25 years. I came upon Joe's name and thought I would send my condolences, he was in HQ Battery of the 459th AAA AW BN and I was in A Battery. I didn't meet him until we went to SanFrancisco at Fort Kronkhite. I remember he was a cook, and I was a vehicle mechanic. I moved down here in 1985, but go up there every year to see my kids. I was born & brought up at 18 Warren Ave., Malden. I...
