betty, nancy, jean, john, gayle and family members...found out passing of joe a few hours before funeral...left next day for thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...your family was blessed to have such a distinguished member as joe living in your immediate presence...i admire joe as you do for his spirited life's accomplishments...he made the most of his life's journey...may the spirit wind be by your side as you traverse the path of your life's you...

Betty, Nancy and Jean, 50 years of memories flood in as I remember our families' interactions that go back much farther than that. Joe was my Sunday school teacher, elementary school principal, role model and dear friend. I'll miss him too.

It was an honor to know Dr. Fries. He was such an inspiration to those who worked with him in the Cabarrus County Schools.

I was so sorry to hear about Dr. Fries. Your family was such an inspiration to me after my family moved to Concord. I went on to finish my education and taught in Cabarrus County schools for 22 years. I never forgot your family and your kindness. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
