It was with great sadness that I learned of Joe's passing. While I had not seen him in several years, I will always cherish our years at Mizzou and the bonds we made at Phi Kappa Psi. He was a "Brother's Brother" and will always be remembered among those of us who shared college and frat life together.

My heart aches for you and your loss.In the short amounts of time that I had spent with the two of you it was always obvious to me the love you both shared as well as Joe's zest for life and ability to always "look on the bright side".The world surely needs more people like your Joe but now he has even made heaven a better place! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. There times and seaons in ours lives some filled with laughter and some sorrow. God is with us during them them all. I have learned we don't the why's until God reveals it to us. But, I do know your loss is God's gain and with Christ's sacrifice we live once again with Him. I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Joe fought a very hard battle and in many ways he won the war. He out lived what the doctors told him & he did this for his, Julia. He loved you so much, he lived for you and that gave him the drive to fight as long as he did. Take care and God Bless.

Sadly I cannot be with you on Monday. You and Joe and I met under such very special circumstances, and you have both been so important to me. I am so grateful for our recent meeting, with Osa, and Joe's big smile and positive attitude prevailed.
