I just found out about Joe's passing. I was the Secretary at Public Safety from 1992 until 2000. He was a joy to work for - the best boss ever. He will be greatly missed.

It is always a sad day when you loose a friend, especially one you have known for 50 plus years. Joe and i were in the 1959 graduating class of New Concord, and played on the basketball team. Everyone who knew Joe knew of his Christian beliefs, by his words and actions. D. L. Moody said, " It is a great deal better to live a holy life than to talk about it. Light houses don't ring bells and fire cannon to call attention to their shining---they just shine. I am praying for God to comfort...

Joe was one of the nicest persons you'd ever want to meet. I was fortunate that my tenure at Murray State overlapped with Joe's directing the MSU Security Office...just a wonderful person to work with. understanding, empathetic, and a true 'gentle giant' of a man. Although we miss him here on earth, that his is with his Lord and Savior and reunited with his parents and wonderful wife, Martha, is a true blessing.
