I am another of many New Jersey lawyers who had Joseph Lynch as a professor in my first year of law school. The year-long course on Civil Procedure with him still provides guidance in my own practice. I also had the opportunity to work with Professor Lynch on some publications. He was an intense scholar with a wry sense of humor. My first experience in law school was Professor Lynch's Constitutional Law class, which immediately made it clear that this was not going to be like college. He was frequently referred to as "Professor Kingsfield" with equal parts of awe and respect.
