Not sure what to say?

When I didn't see Joe at the chess club I knew something was wrong. I found his email on his art website and wrote to him to see how he was doing. He mentioned he was sick but made it seem like it was no big deal. I really miss playing chess with Joe as I had some epic battles and shared several brilliant moments on the chess board with him. Every time I think of chess I'll think of Joe, he was an awesome man that I had the pleasure of knowing for over 12 years. I know there are countless...

Sorry to hear the sad news.

In honor of the laughter and high spirits of Joe's relation to the world (not to belittle the darker moments as well) I wanted to write something that would make him laugh. Tried. Could not. Words can't express the sadness at Joe's passing. He was one of the most uplifting and interesting persons I knew. To be in his presence was always a positive occasion of depth and laughter. He lived a life of beauty and great humanness. He will be missed for his art, his wit and his kindness.

Words can't describe the essence of Joe. As talented and accomplished as he was, he was as equally humble and unassuming. We should all aspire to achieve what came natural to him. Words cannot express how much he meant to our community and to his friends and how much he will be missed. Our deepest condolences to Lori and the rest of Joe's family.
