Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear of Mr. Pilla's passing. I had a great time at Stonewall in part because of him. In the 70's he and our priciple Mr. Lewis were always there for us if we needed anything. He will be sorely missed.

Love Mr. Pilla.. I loved the Hardee runs we made for breakfast.. I love the trunk that he refinished that where my great grandmothers.. I loved the jokes he told us, they lines he used to tell us and nobody could teach like Mr. Pilla. A great man, with a great soul with great compassion. Rest in peace Mr. Pilla, you are so love and will be dearly missed..

I will always remember Joe with a smile, we taught and laughed together at SJHS. To his special family, please accept my sincere condolences. Pam Gwinn

Mr. Pilla was my teacher in Fauquier High. He was my business teacher. He was a very good person and friend. To the family he will always be in your hearts and God Bless.

Dearest Pilla family, it is with a heavy heart that I write this message. I know your loss is greater than anything I could imagine. Mr. Pilla was a great, loving man. He was the life and soul of every room he entered. He spent a lot of time with us at SJHS. We were his second family and we loved him. To him, I was Grape. He told me almost every day that I was his favorite and I loved him for that. But, to be honest, we all were his favorite. He loved us for who we were and we loved him for...

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Pilla was an unforgettable teacher when I was at Stonewall. He will be missed. My prayers are with your family.

There's no doubt Mr. Pilla would be considered a favorite teacher to anyone from SJ who took his class. He sure was one I will never forget.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Pilla family. I can't say I remember all my high school teachers but I will not forget Mr. Pilla. He always had time for students, he was always ready with a joke, a wisecrack or a kind word, depending on what you needed to hear. I will always remember the Hardees biscuit club and trout fishing at Passage Creek. He was truly a special individual and a great teacher.

RIP Mr. Pilla- great memories with you in high school and a couple of years after. My prayers go to the family for the loss.
