Chambers Funeral Homes - Cleveland Obituary

JOSEPH P. SULZER, SR., age 70, of Cleveland, loving husband of 38 years to Sujata Sulzer (nee Mehandroo); beloved father of Joseph P. Jr., Christopher L. (Megan) and Joshua M. Sulzer; dear grandfather of Ari and Eli Joseph; son of the late Agatha (nee Rothgery) and Bernard Sulzer; brother of Barbra Feldkamp, Elaine Klepek and the late Richard and Bernard "Skip" Sulzer; and uncle and friend of many.  Proud graduate of Padua High School Class of 1969 and also earned an Associates Degree in Marketing.  Joseph was a lighting designer at Norton Industries and later in life went on to have a very long and fulfilling career at Sherwin Williams.  He was a man of many talents including painting, carpentry and electrical work.  He loved to spend time with friends and family, renovating his 100-year-old Tudor home, traveling the world with his beautiful wife, camping with his three boys, and had a very strong love for God.  Passed away March 27, 2021.  Funeral Mass Thursday, April 8, Our Lady of Angels Church (3644 Rocky River Dr., Cleveland 44111) at 11:30 A.M. where friends may call THURSDAY, APRIL 8, 11-11:30 A.M. (please observe all Covid-19 safety guidelines).  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Our Lady of Angels Church or the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, 15500 S. Waterloo Rd., Cleveland, OH 44110. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A heart of gold stopped beating, working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.  Arrangements by CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND (216) 251-6566.

Not sure what to say?

Oh, Sujata, I am so sorry for your loss.

We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We will always remember him as such a nice and friendly man, but especially, a loving husband and father to his family. We have fond memories of knowing him during the years that all of our boys went to OLA. Our deepest sympathy to the family.

My heart goes out to you, Sujata, and all your family. I was gifted by knowing Joe and you many years ago, and will never forget the beauty of his heart, the warmth of his love, and the strength of his faith in God. He is surely with Him now, and will always be by your side. My prayers and love are with you in your grief, hoping you know you are not alone.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Joe we only knew you for a short time and we will miss you, our prayers go out to Sujata and your entire family

Joe always put a smile on my face when I'd walk into a S-W store and see him (at any of the many stores he worked at!). Our customers loved him and it's no surprise why--he had the knowledge and experience but also the heart. He was one of those people you just felt at ease being around. Sending love and prayers during this time to Sujata, Joe, Chris, and Josh. Thank you for sharing your Dad with us--he will be greatly missed.

Joe was one of a kind. I loved seeing him at work every day with a smile on his face and never once had anything bad to say about anyone. He will be missed dearly.

Sujata and family - Sending deepest sympathy to you all on the loss of a great man. I have so many fond memories of Joe and all the Sulzer's from my childhood. It was especially nice to reconnect with both of you last summer on Catawba. May the Lord bless all of you and keep you in His loving care. Rest in Peace, Joe Pete.

For all who had the good fortune to know you Joe you have blessed us all.
Our prayers and loving thoughts to Sujata and your entire family.
Tom and Doris Higgins

My deepest sympathy to the Sulzer family. My prayers are with you!! I’ve know Joe for almost 60 years he will be truly missed.
