Not sure what to say?

I will miss Mr. Waggonnnr. He was very much a part of Louisiana governmnet when I was in school.
In fact, I believe he spoke at the school I attended in Minden.
May God's peace be with his family.

Carol Jean,
I wanted so much to represent my family at your dad's funeral, but I was with my daddy at the War Veteran's Home as he lay taking his last breaths. We lost him on his 89th birthday, Oct. 11. He thought so much of Joe and had the utmost respect for him. They were childhood friends in Plain Dealing. I'd like to think that Joe D. Waggoner, Jr. and Ray M. Hilburn are having a wonderful reunion in Heaven! God be with us.

Pat and I extend our sincerest sympathies to Mary Ruth,Carol Jean and David. Joe Waggonner, in all respects, served as a beacon for all public servants to follow.

May God continue to be with the Waggonner family. In days to come may you have blessed assurance that many are thinking of you. I learned of Congressman Waggonner from my grandmother, Clara Jackson and my aunt, Sally Clay both of Plain Dealing. They once worked for the family. I now serve as a senior staffer for U S Sen Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and my cuz worked closely on NASA projects and National Security. People from Plain Dealing continue to serve the nation.

I met Mr. Waggoner while I was employed at Bossier Bank & Trust in the early 80's. I loved him. He always called me Ft. Worth (my name is Dallas). I had the pleasure also of working one summer w/ yall's neice. I'm sorry I can remember her name, but she is probably in her early 40's. She was fun too! I moved to Dallas, TX and my grandmother Braider Barnes called and told me he had passes away since she knew I was very fond of him. I'm sorry for your loss. I know he will be...

To the family of Joe D. Waggonner, Jr.

I was President of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at LaTech in the mid 1980's. Whenever I needed guidance I called upon Mr. Waggonner. I knew what a busy schedule he must have had but without hesitation he always took my call or personal visit and spent as much time as I needed. I enjoyed his candor and his history lessons to me. He truly loved our state and I was honored to have had his guidance. We have lost a great citizen and mentor. My...

Dear Mary Ruth, Carol Jean, and David, Jay and I are out of the country and are so sorry we are not present to honor our dear friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. F.Jay & Lou Taylor

Mary Ruth, Carol Jean, and David. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. As you know Joe was beloved by so many people and we feel privileged to be among those.

Dear Mary Ruth, Carol Jean and David,
All my life he was known to me as "Joe," a close family friend. But I felt so proud to refer to him as "Congressman Waggoner" during my internship with him on The Hill. I loved him and I will miss him. My prayers are with you.
