Not sure what to say?

To the Bamber (and extended) family:

We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences on Josie's passing. Remember, it is just a passing from one life to the next. She is happy, healthy and in God's arms. Jim was there to meet her.

Our family was a long time patron of Sunny Italy and we enjoyed seeing the whole family. Josie, Jim and the others made it a pleasure and it always felt like going home. They were both fine examples of how to treat others and lead a respectful...

Dear Dennis, Sis and family,
Our thoughts are with you as you grieve the earthly loss of your dear mom. I too was a member of Pilot Club. I enjoyed working with her in this club and because of our work Jo became an inspiration to me. It is through the club that we became acquainted with your parents. She was a kind, loving, compassionate and caring person. We both enjoyed our times at the Diamond Lake home and tasting all the wonderful foods created by Josephine. We will miss...

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Dear Bamber Family:

I am sorry to hear about the loss of Josie. She was great lady. I remember the times my parents, John and Mary Nagy took me to the Sunny Italy and I remember spending times upstairs to your residence with the kids. I have been living away from South Bend since 1980, so I missed the passing of Joe, Butch and PJ. Please accept my condolences.

Dear Bamber Family,

As my sister wrote, your mother and father hosted the Thorson family at Sunny Italy nearly weekly, it seemed. Although we didn't call it Sunny Italy then. My folks would tell us we were going to Josie's for dinner. Josie would always stop by the table and warmly welcome my parents with her beautiful smile.

A wonderful lady.

My thought and prayers are with you.

Dear Bamber family,

I will send a prayer your way as some of my earliest and latest and fondest memories involve Josie, your family and Sunny Italy.

Sunny Italy hosted my dad (Ralph Thorson) and his best friend (Kenny Kempf) long before I was born and before my Dad met my Mom.

A prior poster referred to it as a passing of an icon. I couldn't agree more.

My thoughts and prayers to you at this time.

Dear Bamber Family:

Sincere condolences to you all on the loss of your dear mother, Josie. What a wonderful lady!

Our family has shared many a meal at your restaurant over the years. All the way back to the days when our dad, Chuck was first dating our mother, Helen. Lots of wonderful memories!

Our thoughts & prayers are with you at this time of loss.

Your Mom and your family along with Sunny Italy provided the Sweeney/Dennig clan a wonderful place to celebrate our lives, deaths, birthdays, Notre Dame victories (and losses!!!) for many many years. She will always be in my prayers and grateful and loving thoughts. My Dad (Chuck Sweeney) proposed to my Mom at Sunny Italy many years ago! We bless you all on the passing of a icon in our lives.
