Where to begin, we grew up closer than most cousins as we were more like brothers. We fought, we laughed and we cried. We had good times, great times and bad times. We learned the lessons of life together in many occasions. So many memories, it's funny that later in life whenever we got together that's what we always seem to talk about. All the crazy and outlandish things we did, the times we were caught and the times we got away with it. Some of the funny things like when we both worked building houses for my dad, we went to lunch one day to Pizza Hut and well not to be outdone by each other we pretty much got into a war of who could eat the most pizza.. we then went back to work in the 110 degree heat of August framing a house. Well needless to say it didn't work out to well for either of us , man we were sick as dogs. Hahaha.. my dad was so mad at us he sent us both home for the day! Memories of riding the strip in Panama City on spring break, thinking we had it all together, the world by the tail.. good times man. Summers spent at Callaway Gardens, playing beach volleyball for 8 hours straight or racing your Nana and Pawpaws scooters down their driveway!..lol.. Yea I think we wrecked one and got into a lot of trouble with that..lol.. staying up late making mix tapes off the radio, drawing sketches, talking to girls or trying to sneak out.. although we were never good that the sneaking part. So many good times I also remember the first time ever going to a church service, you had a girl friend who went to a local church and they asked us to come for a special event. Not knowing what we would be going to, we arrived got on a church van and rode forever out into the country, to this day I have no clue where this was. We went to a tent in the middle of pasture with saw dust for a floor and it was lit up with light's, an old tent revival. I remember hearing a sweaty man preach like crazy that nightme and you got back in the van that night a little different. We could not really put into words what we felt, I remember us being excited, and saying we felt good etc. Now looking back that was the first time I ever felt God in my life, it was seed planted that would bloom later in my life but I am thankful that this memory is also shared with you. Its hard to find good use of the vocabulary when trying to describe a lifelong friendship, we grew older, had kids, jobs and went on separate paths but nothing changes the roots. I always knew beyond a shadow of a doubt if I called you or if you called me we were there for each other. I remember a conversation we had one time, we both loved music and talking about what we would want played at our funeral, yours came way too soon, but I remember standing there when I heard this come on the speakers, I am glad that song played as I remember us both talking about it.... just sums it up.... better than I can ....
Mama told me when I was young
"Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it will help you some sunny day"
"Oh, take your time, don't live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
You'll find a woman and you'll find love
And don't forget, son, there is someone up above"
"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"
"Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied"
"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"
Oh yes, I will
"Boy, don't you worry, you'll find yourself
Follow your heart and nothing else
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied"
"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"
Baby, be a simple, really simple man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Miss you cuz,
LB

Son, I'm still in such shock. Please know how much daddy and I Love and miss you and always will. I hear your voice, your laughter, and you always answering the phone with "Hello Beautiful" while I say "Hello Handsome" and all I can do is cry. I feel your hand on my heart telling me it will be ok, but I'm still so broken inside without you. Today is your oldest sons Turner's 6th birthday. I hate knowing these babies won't have you here to celebrate there special days with them, but know, we will be there for them, for you.... Just know We Love you now and forever. Mama
