Judith Jane Hinz the daughter of Paul and Margaret (Fleming) Harvey was born October 3, 1943 in Grand Island, Nebraska. She departed this life on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 67 years. Judy began her schooling in Grand Island and moved to Deshler in 1954. Judy graduated from Deshler High School with the class of 1961. She furthered her education by attending Fairbury College for 2 years and received her teaching certificate. Judy then taught school in Ohiowa and Ruskin. Judy had worked over 20 years at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center. On May 31, 1964 Judy was united in marriage to LeRoy Hinz at the First Presbyterian Church at Deshler, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of 5 children: Sandra, Michael, Carl, Vicki and Gary. Judy was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Ruskin, NE. She was confirmed and baptized at St. Marks. Judy enjoyed reading the Bible, and children's books to the little ones; among other books, sewing, and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband LeRoy of Oak, NE; daughters: Sandra Lucas and husband Dave of Nebraska City, NE; Vicki Heard and husband Bill of Wymore, NE; sons: Michael Hinz of Oak, NE; Carl Hinz of Ruskin, NE; and Gary Hinz and wife Michele of rural Deshler, NE; brother Don Harvey of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren: Carrie (Lucas) Badberg and husband Adam; Jessica and Laura Lucas, Madeline, Dalton, Adelaide, Caroline and Jackson Heard; Gracie, Carlee and Jonathan Hinz; Great grandchildren: Elliot and Caleb; other relative and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held this Wednesday 10:30 AM, January 5, 2011 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ruskin, NE. Pastor B.J. Fouts will be officiating.
