Judith Ann Sola

Judith (Judy) Ann Sola (nee Lind), age 77, passed away on October 15, 2024, in her Crystal Lake home with her family and dog by her side. Judy was born and raised in Chicago, where she attended Little Flower High School. She was a natural athlete and academic, and took her talents to DePaul University, where she earned a Bachelor of Physical Education. For over 20 years, Judy was a dedicated teacher and coach in Northfield (St. Louise de Marillac High School) and Crystal Lake (North Junior High, Lundahl Junior High, and West Elementary School). With a desire to make a bigger impact for her students, she earned a Master of School Administration from Roosevelt University. She ended her career as the Assistant Principal in McHenry at Edgebrook Elementary School. Judy loved her students with all her heart and took pride in supporting her follow teachers. 

Judy was the heart and soul of her family. She loved doing everything with them, from going to Disney World and cruising around the world to attending Chicago sporting events and boating on Crystal Lake. She had a zest for life that was contagious to everyone she met. Judy was a dedicated friend who would help anyone in need.

Judy loved all sports. She was an avid golfer and truly excelled at any sport she tried, including softball, waterskiing, and skiing. She also enjoyed playing the slots with her family and friends.

Judy was the beloved wife of 54 years, to Oscar; devoted mother to Tony and Gina; dear sister to Dr. John (Jane) Lind Jr. and the late Dr. Dennis (Ruth) Lind; and fond aunt to her nieces and nephews and their children. She was a loving dog mother to many dogs, leaving behind Winnie. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lind Sr. and Rose Lind (nee Sarra).

Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Davenport Funeral Home, 419 East Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Davenport Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 West Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 South Rawson Bridge Road, Cary.
