Judy W. Hozey, 69, of Seneca, SC was called to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 23, 2020. She was the daughter of Odessa Willis Ramsey and Carl H. Willis. Judy retired from Greenville Health System after a long career in nursing, caring for others. Judy loved life, her family and her friends. She enjoyed cooking and was always ready to host friends and family for any occasion. Family was important to Judy and she hosted many holiday and special occasion gatherings, always urging everyone to stay close. A powerful and fun-loving force of nature wherever she went, Judy could not be ignored when she entered a room. She could provide a pep talk or a finger scolding whenever needed, but she did it with all the love her heart could provide. Judy was a strong Christian lady and loved helping others as evidenced by her 35 year nursing career and her big benevolent heart. She committed her life to the causes important to her; Susan G Komen; Crossroads Group Home for Girls; The Dream Center and the Tucker W. Hipps Memorial Foundation, where she served as a board member. Judy loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit many places in the US and abroad, including, Spain, Italy, England and others. Judy is survived by her best friend, travel buddy, and "partner in crime", Janice L White of the home; her brother Charles W. Willis and his wife Marie of Abbeville, James (Jim) Willis of Calhoun Falls; sister, Linda Evans of Franklin, NC; Alvin Ramsey of Callison; and Rhonda R Wilkie of Plum Branch; and Faye Cooper of Hobbs, NM. Judy was Aunt to many nieces and nephews by blood and those who loved her dearly and chose to call her aunt. Judy and Janice were known as "The Crazy Aunts". Judy, an animal lover her whole life is also survived by her furry children, "Tucker and Sadie". In addition to her parents and late husband, John Henry (Bugs) Hozey, she was predeceased by a daughter, Zelisha R. Hozey, a special godson, Tucker W. Hipps, a beloved nephew, Keller B. Bowie, three brothers, Harold Willis, Jr , Tommy Ramsey, Frank Ramsey and stepfather Gary Ramsey. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
