Not sure what to say?

The family is diminished by her loss

My husband, Chris and I were fortunate to live in Mrs. Campbell's guest house from 1985-87 during his residency in otolaryngology at UVa. hospital. We loved every minute on Lewis Mtn. and especially getting to know Julia. She told the most interesting stories about her life, always weaving fascinating asides with "but I do digress!". Julia was one of the brightest women I have ever known and had an incredible memory. We have thought of her, Mitchell, Henry, the dogs in...

Cousin Julia spent many happy childhood hours getting into mischief with my dad, Wm. A. Courtenay Bateman Jr., and always spoke fondly of him. She was a marvelous and joyous woman who always ended our talks with a joke and a cheerful Hooray! I'll miss her.

I was very sorry to miss the graveside service today, but I had clients in from out of town with a very short window of time. I will miss our many phone conversations that always ended with her joke of that paticular week. She was a dear friend of my great uncle and aunt Bill and Anne, always calling to check on them and their son Stevie before their deaths.
Also, after she would tell me her joke she would end the coversation with a big "Oh Boy!!"
She will be missed by...

We want to express our sincere condolences to the family. Mrs. Campbell was full of joie de vivre and loved to find that special something at our auctions.
Sincerely, Pat Powell & Norman Dill
