Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Dr. Yong's passing and am deeply saddened. He was a great person, teacher, and coach. The four years I swam at AHS were the best and Dr. Yong still owed me a steak dinner for finishing my first 500m race in 9th grade. My condolences to Waylon and the rest of the Yong family.
I am sure the rest of the Class of 1984 at AHS expresses the same thoughts.

Kai was my neighbor, my friend, my Chinese teacher, my fellow US-China Peoples Friendship Association member and my fellow National Association of Chinese Americans member. Most of all, he was a wonderful person who brightened everyone's mood the minute he'd enter wherever we were. He was a treasure, and I thank him and his family for the memories.

To the Yong family:

We were greatly saddened when we heard the news that Kai had passed. We are sorry we missed the memorial service as I was out of town and my parents were still in Singapore. Kai will be greatly missed by our family and the community he was such a great part of.

To the Yong Family: I was heart broken, shocked and so sad to learn of Dr. Kai's death. He was a wonderful, loving, caring person and one I will never forget. He loved the Golden Olympics and we will miss him so much. You never had to guess how Dr. Kai felt about you....he was so open and loving. On behalf of the Georgia Golden Olympics, Thanks Dr. Kai for remembering us. We will always remeber you. And thanks for being my friend! I love you. Vic

To Kailynn and the entire Yong family, my prayers go out to you. May you find comfort in knowing that Dr. Yong will be remembered as not only a great teacher but a great role model. I can remember times while driving through Avondale Estates and seeing him in the yard. He wouldn't remember my name but he always remembered my face and would greet me with a big smile just like he did when I was at Avondale. He will be greatly missed. But remember " Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot...

TO THE FAMILY OF MR YONG,

MAY WE EXPRESS OUR DEEPEST SYMTHANY IN THE LOSS OF YOUR FATHER. WHAT A WONDERFUL PERSON AND TEACHER HE WAS. BOTH OF MY GIRLS HAD HIM AS A TEACHER AT AVONDALE HIGH. MR YONG DID NOT FORGET ANYONE'S NAME. HE WAS A REMARKABLE PERSON. BOTH CHERI AND DEBBIE MOEHRING SEND THEIR SYMPTHANY.

Dear Family of Dr. Yong,
I worked with Dr. Yong at Cary Reynolds Elementary and remember him as a kind, gentle person. He always called me on my birthday and that meant so much to me. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kai, we'll miss you.
Know you're going to a better place!
Love from us.
Phil and Maria McConnell

I have known the Yongs since they came to Avondale. I remember Mr. Yong asking "Hi friend! You swim?" The Yongs have been great neighbors!
