It deeply saddened me to hear that a very special person in my life passed. It was my pleasure to have known Karen as she was my supervisor at DCYF. A woman that was well-spoken and cared deeply about the lives of children and their well-being. My heart-felt thoughts and prayers to Karen's husband and her 2 sons Matthew and Christopher. My god comfort you in this time of sorrow. Karen's spirit will live on. RIP Karen.... love always

My heartfelt condolences to the Takes and Pappis family. I met Karen as a teenager when I joined the Maids of Athena. We became fast friends. Karen was good-hearted and kind. I recall the many times the Takes Family invited so many to their home after Easter Services and we stayed into the early morning hours. Good times. May you all find comfort as she is with our Lord and Savior now. God Bless her.

Pappis family, thinking of you at this time. A remarkable woman. I will miss seeing her at Saratoga in the summers.

I will miss my best friend from NY and St Sophia Blessings And peace to George,Matthew and Chris One in a million sweet Karen
