Services for Karl Owen Priddy, 73, Tyler, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2005 at Lloyd James Funeral Home with the Rev. David Tidmore officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Van Zandt County, under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Mr. Priddy died July 12, 2005, at Hospice HomePlace.

He was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, and lived most of his life in Tyler. A 1951 graduate of Tyler High School, he studied engineering at Arlington State College and Tyler Junior College. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and was a Baptist. He worked for Tyler Pipe and King Chevrolet, and retired as a millwright from Kelly Springfield Tire Co. after 34 years. He served with two Tyler Boy Scout troops, mostly with Kelly Springfield's Troop 543, and was awarded several local and council Scouting awards, including the Silver Beaver. He was an auto racing and street rod car enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Vera and C. w. Florence of Tyler.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Peggy Morgan Priddy of Tyler, daughter and son-in-1aw, Karla and David Haynes of McKinney; son and daughter-in-law, Curt and Karen Priddy of Tyler grandchildren Kaleb Haynes and Cheyenne Priddy and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Jim Poindexter, Roger Campbell, Tommy Jerger, Mike King, Jim Powers and J.B. Birt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701 or East Texas Area Council Boy Scout Pirtle Capital Campaign Fund, 1331 E. Fifth St., Tyler, TX 75701.
