Not sure what to say?

Dear Fred, Madeline and Amelia: I'm stunned and saddened to learn of Katie's passing. She and I were friends at Grinnell. She introduced me to The Rocky Horror Picture Show and deep dish pizza on a fun trip to Winnetka one year! We stayed in touch for a number of years after college, so I remember her excitement at the births of you girls, her happiness with you, Fred, and her love for you all. She sent me lovely Christmas pictures of you all for many years. I'm sorry to say that we lost...

Stunned to learn of this. I taught w/Katie at Annandale and she was unfailingly a dear...snd so devoted to her students and her profession.
Heartfelt thoughts and prayers...

Hello Fred and daughters. I have such fond memories of Katie which I will always hold dear--her sweetness and earnest sincerity struck me the most! We first met at the Pit playground when the girls were small and I also remember taking Maddie to camp with Austin, in the back seat. I cherish the memories and my heart goes out to you three with great tenderness as I recall her life. Just wish I had known, for we had drifted out of touch. Nevertheless, she would understand as no one else would...

Dear Fred, Madeline and Amelia,
I am so sad to read about the passing of your beloved Mom/Wife/Best Friend, Katie.
My heart and soul go out to you at this very sad time in your life.
I can't begin to experience what you are going through.
I grew up in Winnetka and went to Skokie School and Washburn Jr. High School with Katie. I do remember Katie as someone who was always interested in books.
Peace be with you at this sorrowful time in your lives.
Sincerely,

My deepest sympathy goes to you, Mary Lou and Gordon, as well as to the rest of your family.
