Katherine Raymond Seymour “Fat Kat out da Magnolia”, age 50 was born on August 31, 1973, in New Orleans, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2023. She attended Walter L. Cohen Senior High, Moler Beauty College and Fifth Africa Baptist Church. Katherine was employed at Ebony Beauty Store, Eckerd Drug Store, Standard Parking, and Est. Incorporated. Katherine leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband Johnny Barksdales Seymour; 3 daughters Edwarnesha Raymond, Jamesha Raymond King (Keron Sr.), and Taylor Nicholas; 2 bonus sons Johnny Downs and Jaron Royal; 3 grand-children Kaci, Keron King, Jr., and Marlo Nicholson; 5 siblings, Qutrelia Raymond Scott, Dennis James Smith (Trina), Cheryl Benoit Feast (Floyd), August Raymond III, and Aletta Davis-Clinton (Ty); god-sister Alma Jefferson; god-father August Williams; mother-in-law Ada Seymour; 2 sisters-in-law, Kimmie Seymour and Lakisha Morris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents James Smith and Janet McDonald Raymond; her aunt and uncle Mildred and Junius Barthelemy; her uncle Dr. Robert Lee Smith; her Aunt Katherine Phipps; father-in-law Johnny Barksdales, and her god-mother Shirley Jefferson. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. at Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home, 2120 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113. Visitation from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Private Burial. All those in attendance are encouraged to wear a face mask. A reception celebrating her life will be held in the Magnolia Center at 2515 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113 from 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., second line band at 5:00 p.m. All who knew her are invited to attend.
