age 73, of Hammond, IN passed away at home December 30, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Kathy is survived by her children: Jeff (Sandy) Wright, Tammy (Tom) Yack and Tina Adams; grandchildren: Natalie Cruz, Leslie Adams, Brian (Tiffany) Adams, Katie (Amaury) Martinez, Taylor Wright, Jake Wright and Emma Klefeker; great grandchildren: Maddox, Parker, Rylee and Raelynn; sister Wanda Whitworth; sister-in-law Liz Brasher; brother-in-law Robert Wright; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Charles Wright, daughter Janie, parents Basil Humphrey and Myrl Harrison, brother James “Buddy” Humphrey.
Kathy was the matriarch of her family and the glue that held everyone together. She cherished every moment that she was surrounded by her loving family and devoted her life to her children and her grandchildren in order to give them the best life possible. Kathy enjoyed taking walks on the bike trail, shopping and having lunch at The Wheel with her Golden Girls GeJuan Irby and Shirley Davis. She was an avid fan of country music and dancing. Kathy had a smile that could light up a room. While we are all saying Goodbye Darlin’, we can only hope that Conway Twitty was there to take your hand at the Pearly Gates and welcome you with a “Hello Darlin”.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday January 5, 2018 at 10:30 am with Pastor Scott Ferry leading our prayers.
