It is with heavy hearts that we learn of Katie's death. Her valiant spirit demonstrated throughout life's challenges was evident her faith sustained her. May God hold her in the palm of his hand and watch over her beloved Colleen always.

Katie was a force of nature, a shiny light,a breath of fresh air....The Bicknell family has fond memories and we send condolences and prayers to the entire Higgins family.

Big heartfelt sorrow at hearing this news. I can remember Katie from when I was a little girl - all the Higgins family is wonderful of course and I remember feeling like when Katie walked in the room it was like someone had turned on a light, as if her energy just lit up the place! We are heartbroken to hear of Katie's passing. She was certainly " one of a kind"; beautiful, intelligent, generous, devoted and incredibly strong.Her smile and bubbly personality will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure to meet her.
She is now " home", released into the gentlest hands, where pain and suffering are no more, and with her beloved " Mickey".
