In the early morning hours of November 15, 2014, Keith Gray peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior while he was surrounded by those who love him. He was 53 years old. Keith was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on February 19, 1961. He was the first born child of James and Ruth Gray. Early on, Keith developed a love of reading that continued throughout his life. Keith became a child of God at a young age. His walk with the Lord throughout his life was one that we all can learn from. Aftter moving to Shreveport at age 10, he attended Broadmoor Baptist Church. He graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1979. During his senior year, he received the honorable distinction of being a National Merit Society semi-finalist. He attended Baylor Univeristy where he graduated with a degree in Journalism. He was a truly gifted writer who could eloquently express himself with words on paper. After graduating from Baylor, Keith moved to Fort Worth to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While attending the seminary, he began working at the Baptist Book Store on the seminary campus. He continued to work there until his passing. Throughout his entire life, Keith's gentle and sweet spirit was a comfort to those around him. Although he may have been a man of few words, his presence and actions spoke volumes to family, friends, and anyone who came into contact with him. Family was very important to Keith. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. He met the love of his life, Merelee, in 1998. They loved each other very much and beautifully shared life together. This story of Keith's life wouldn't be complete without mentioning how much he enjoyed Star Trek and Civil War History. Keith will be greatly missed but comfort is found in knowing that he is in the presence of our Lord in heaven. Keith was preceded in death by his father, James Gray, his paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Alma Gray, and maternal grandparents, Leroy and Lydia Smith. He is survived by his mom, Ruth Gray, sister, Joy Roberts, niece and nephew, Heather and Robert Hatchett and the love of his life, Merelee Reese. In lieu of flowers, it's requested that donations be made to Keith's church. Donations can be mailed to Springdale Baptist Church, 3016 Selma Street, Fort Worth, TX 76111. Be sure to put "In Memory of Keith Gray" on your donation.
