Kelvin Chaisson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 10, 2014.
Kelvin LaDale Chaisson, age 33, was born on June 7, 1981 to Wallace Dale Lightfoot II and Marrian Glover and died November 8, 2014. Kelvin was a proud graduate of M. B. Smiley High School and fulfilled his dreams of attending and playing football for Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

In 1999, Kelvin saw his purpose in life realized when we welcomed his first born son K'Lavon LaDale Chaisson into the world. He expanded that purpose with the addition of Kirrian, Kiyah and Kydric. Kelvin dedicated his life to the success and well-being of his children, and his family. His generosity, love and giving heart will never be forgotten or replaced.

He leaves to mourn his fiancé Andrina Wilson, his children; K'Lavon, Kirrian, Kiyah, & Kydric; his parents and step-parents; Marrian & Gary Glover, Rev. Wallace Dale II & Delnita Lightfoot; grandfather Wallace Lightfoot Sr., his siblings: Tomekia Chaisson (Will), Regina Ingram (Cedric), Chardae and Brandon, Shandale, Jordan and Jinelle Lightfoot, Chelsey and Ricole Crosby, and Brittany Chappel, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Jinelle Lightfoot, Alvis and Lillie Mae Hooper, and his sister Clarkniethia Chaisson.

After all these years dude, this loss of a real friend whom was more as my distant brother still has a uncomfortable reminder 2 it. @ least u got that spot with Baylor & was on your way 2 the professional league.
Though stopped just shy of the whole dream being fulfilled, stepped out & made it happen.
He did it 4 u & did it with ease. Missed the championship game with Northshore, but Watched him dominate with LSU.
Man, just 2 hear Alfred Davis Jr. from u again bro would b a highlight. We both stayed busy, But when we crossed paths, it was as if we didn't C each other a year span here and there.
I had an idea, but just didn't know surely, but hopefully U know, your name carries on. Hopefully GOD has cleared the slates & accepted U within his ranks. Thanks 4 being that real 1, I never had a doubt or question about when it came 2 loyalty.
2025 is that year man! No more zombie dead & lost ways. Losing u, my father & other brothers really weighed on me, but I rebound & keep know GOD will provide as U would always believe & speak. Miss U bro! It's not the same here.
May u rest well man.

To you my Brother,
I first thank GOD for loaning you to us for the 33yrs you were here on Earth in human formform. When he created you, it was magical. You were special in every way. Your spirit was gentle and kind. You smiled than you frowned. Gotta love that. I always and forever will cherish the kisses on my forehead (because you were taller than me) you use to give me because, they mean the world to me. I feel your spirit quite often. I miss and Love you forever and always.
Your Sister,

Man, I just found out and all I can do is post on this page. What a loss. Every memory I have with you is laughing. You had this instinct to know when to call and when I needed help. I've been out of touch too long and now Ill never get to tell you how much I value you as a friend. None of us are perfect but you were special bruh. Freestyle king!

Oh my.....when I got the news I was in shock.Kelvin has always called me his baby girl. We went to Kirby together but I left and went to a different high school. But we still kept in touch with one another. I went to Sam Houston and he went to Baylor but we still would visit one another. Kelvin was a REAL friend he was the big brother I never had both our mothers drove for North Forest and we always had a special bond. It's funny how God works. My nephew and his son play on the same basketball team at North Shore. Just last year I started seeing Mama Chaisson more. Just this August I saw Kelvin at a game and he hugged me SUPER TIGHT and told me he was proud of the woman I become. I didn't talk to him often but the bond we share is like no other. He had just asked my mom to make him a strawberry cake....umm but she didn't get a chance to but now Kelvin you have something sweeter than cake and that's JESUS!!! REST IN PEACE AND TO YOUR SISTERS AND MAMA CHAISSON AND MR.GLOVER AND YOUR CHILDREN I LOVE EACH AND EVER ONE OF YOU...STAY STRONG AND ASK GOD FOR STRENGTH....

My heart is heavy, but I know my brother from another mother is at peace. I just want to give my condolences to his Mother Mirrian Chaisson, his two beautiful sisters and his children. I first met this family when they were kids themselves and we lived right across the street from one another my family had gained an extended family and it was a pleasure to have had them in my life. So at this time I feel like I have lost my little brother too even though I haven't seen him in years physically his family makes sure you see him in picture on facebook lol,but just know he will always be in my heart. R.I.P Kevin your memories will live on till we meet again on the other side. Love you brother from another mother!

When I first met Kelvin Chaiisson I never thought I would have become his High School sweetheart but low and behold it happened and we became very close friends that went through just about everything together.... He was my first love and I will never forget him and the beautiful moments that we shared.... We tried to lose contact with one another but some through the grace of God we always somehow reconnected.

He will be truly missed and never forgotten!!

To the family that I considered my OWN family I Love tall and I pray daily for everyone's strength and peace. I love you all dearly!

You're my cousin that I just met and been living near you for so long. Your mama is my dad's first cousin....and when she saw me for the first time, I knew she was someone special... I know she loved you dearly as she did your son like her own...It's hard to see everyone so hurt and broken because you're gone... I read your Baylor stats...AWESOME... I know God had to have a better plan far more than anyone else in this world! You're looking down on them now and doing your normal job of protecting everyone... Take it easy up there big fella...I know you're in a much better place than this ugly, mean 'ol world! Your mama is strong woman.. it's in her East Texas blood...And she'll have all of our support to get her through these trying times.. May God grant peace, serenity and strength to my family! I love you Lil Bit.. like I've known you all my life. We're here for you and Gary and Tameka & all of the kids.

When I first met Kelvin C. we couldn't STAND each other. We would argue because "you can't tell me what to do/say". Over time we grew to accept, tolerate, love and actually be friendly to each other.
I saw him about 6 months ago and we look at each other REAL stank-like and bust out laughing. Before we parted;
I said, "you know I love you, boi"
He said, "You betta, everybody else do!" LOL
Me: Urggh!!
We laughed so hard/loud!!
I will FOREVER charish that moment.

To his large, loving, close-knit, BEAUTIFUL family: My heart and prayers go out to you ALL. His smile, laugh, jokes, kindness, and spirit will always be in our hearts. Rest Easy Kelvin, I Love U!!

Kelvin, Where do i begin? We met our freshman year in high school and the friendship was instant. Its a friendship that i have cherished since day one. During our Senior year i was blessed to have you as my Football Boy. I got to spoil you for a few weeks :-) lol I remember asking you what were some of the things you liked and your response was FOOD! :-) Therefore thats exactly what you got every week during that football season. I enjoyed doing it just as much as you enjoyed eating it...lol. Although we lost contact and only saw each other every now and then we always knew what it was. Our friendship didnt mean that we had to talk everyday but that we knew we'd be there for each other when we need each other the most. Im still in disbelief that you're gone but i have to find comfort in knowing that we'll see each other again one day.
To Momma Chaisson, Regina & Tomekia- You all know that i Love each of you as family. If you need anything im here. Rest Easy Kelvin
