Smith, Bizzell & Warner Funeral Home Obituary

On Tuesday, February 2, 2015, Keneatha Ann Hardin made her transition to be with the Lord. Born May 8, 1952, she was the first child born to the union of Jett and Pearl Hardin.

A lifetime resident of Gary, Indiana, she was a graduate of West Side High School and Sawyer Business College. Keneatha was a dedicated employee at the Hammond Housing Authority, where she was a Senior Service Manager for 24 years. Her famous laugh will echo through our hearts and minds throughout eternity.

G. Hardin and brother Billy (LaTasha) Miles.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Kenneth (Crystal) Trout, Glen and Kirk Hardin; one daughter, Kenyatta Hardin; two sisters, Jettina (Willie) Hardin and Enith (Kevin) Walters; two brothers, David (Erica) Hardin and Steven Hardin, all of Gary, Indiana; very special friend, Larry Wright of Chicago, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, other relatives and friends.

How do you describe a person who always thought of the other person before themselves? A person who would reach for the moon and the stars to help their fellow man. A person whose heart overflowed with care and empathy for anyone and everyone she met. A person who went above and beyond to help all. I have never meant anyone as giving and caring as Keneatha. She was an angel amongst us, without a doubt. She has left a huge void for all the people whom she assisted day in and day out. Her love...
