Kenneth Edger Griffith

Born September 9, 1936 in St. Charles, Missouri to Celestin Griffith, at 9 months of age he was lovingly placed with Edward and Anastasia Kevins. He was raised with a wonderful sister, Elisabeth (Betty) Kevins-Short. Ken was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife Sandra Lee Huber Griffith and oldest son, Kenneth Edward Griffith.

At the age of 18, Ken joined the U.S. Navy. His service included 18 H-bomb and A-bomb test at Eneweak Atoll. On August 3, 1967 he arrived in Viet Nam, where served in the “Brown Water Navy”. Petty Officer 2nd Class Quartermaster Griffith was assigned to PBR-151 as the Boat Captain. he earned the Navy Commendation Medal w/combat V, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Award (4th), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device and the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star. Petty Officer Griffith retired after 20 years of Naval Service in 1974.

Ken was extremely proud of his three sons; Kenneth E. and wife Kay, grandsons, Robert, Logan and wife, Blair and great grandsons Kane and Kolt, great granddaughter, Jessica; Gerald Thomas Griffith and wife, Connie and great granddaughter, Holly; Robert Lee Griffith and wife, Shawna, grandson Phoenix and granddaughter, Kelani.

Ken married Sandra Wilson Griffith of San Antonio, Texas in 1994 along with three step-children; Jerry Henry, Billy Henry and Jennifer Griffith.

Ken was a life member of the VFW and a member of Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men.
