Dear Joann,
It has been many years since we visited in person, but Cindy and I often think of you and Ken when our high school memories start coming out. Upon learning of Ken's death I once again recalled the good times we had at Central and UND. I always looked up to him because of the friendship he extended to me, and I have never forgotten that kindness.

Ken gave me my first (and only) golf lessons in 1966 and to this day I credit him for my...

A lovely man.. I remember him from E.C.C. and I am friends with his children, Suzy and Steve... and he was always so kind..I know this loss will take a long time to get over, but the memories you hold with you in your hearts never go away. My sincere condolences go out to the Mellem family....Jennifer Carlson...Edina, Mn

A Minnie friend told me about Ken's death, and I want to offer my condolences. Ken knew my late husband, Russ Johnson, from CDC .

Joann and family
We are saddened at the loss of another of our great classmates from GFCentral. Ken always did us proud, both as a "Redskin", and later by what he accomplished in his life. Our deepest sympathy for your loss.

Dear Joann,

We were saddened to hear of Ken's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Fondly, Sandy and Mike Slomka

Ken was special in my life. He's the one who helped me get into sales and the one who helped me get my job in California 27 years ago. If I had a corporate mentor/ sponsor, he was it. I had a great deal of affection for him, a feeling I'd never had before nor have had since. I've still got the framed quote he signed when I got the sales job. If I regret anything, it's that I never got to see him after I moved here.

2010 UND Government and Business class with Ken

Mellem Family,

I had the pleasure of participating in the UND Government and Business trip with Ken this Spring in Washington DC. Ken was a fabulous leader and a wonderful friend to all us us there. He has given so much to UND, specifically to the College of Business. We all greatly appreciated his kindness and warmth to us all. My prayers are with you in this time.

I had the pleasure of serving on various Boards with Ken (Pride of Florida and others); although it was not a long relationship I learned to appreciate his counsel and wisdom, and above all his willingness to give of himself. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family.
