BECKER RITTER ELMBROOK FUNERAL HOME Obituary

It is with deep sadness we share the untimely passing of Kevin as a result of an unexpected health event. Kevin was the outstanding husband of Beverlee. Loving father of Tyler and Samuel. Beloved son of Norm and Joanne Ruch. Dear brother of Bryan Ruch and Colleen (Andy) Doll. Cherished son-in-law of Donald and the late Rosemary Podewils. Well-loved brother-in-law of Barbara (Randall) Nashleanas. Also lovingly remembered by other family, many friends and ?all creatures?.

Kevin achieved his childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian upon graduating from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. He joined the Elmbrook Veterinary Clinic in his senior year and never looked back. He became co-owner of the clinic in 2013. He was a skilled surgeon and thorough vet. He will be missed by his many patients.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12 at Brookfield Christian Reformed Church (14135 W. Burleigh Rd.) from 3 PM to 6 PM. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, April 13 at the church from 10 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Brookfield Christian Reformed Church, Brookfield Christian School or Wisconsin Humane Society.

Not sure what to say?

You are greatly missed pal. We always hold you in our memories and hope to see you when Jesus resurrects the dead in his name and we all joyfully meet again in his eternal kingdom.

Thinking of you always Kevin

Bev, Tyler Ans Sam- you continue to give to animals and people alone with the most love, caring, compassion and skill that anyone could have! We will always be grateful to your entire family for what you gave to our four legged family! You honor Dr. Ruch every day - as always we are still today sorry for your loss and send you our love, thoughts, and prayers!!

I still think of him so very often. Every time I have a concern about my dog I miss him even more. I had so much trust in how he provided care for my dog. I've never had a vet who was so kind and caring or one who always listened to what I had to say, knowing how to reassure my concerns and help me to know he would always be there if I needed him. It seems so wrong that someone who gave so much to so many would have his life end so early.

Kevin and his team and family will remain in my heart forever. I think of him many times a day whenever I look at my beloved Chance. Kevin saved his life and consequently mine. I have a picture of Kevin, Bev, Sam and Tyler on my frig. Happy times. Elmbrook Veterinary Clinic grew to be a success through his kindness and dedication, and through Bob Marold's vision and leadership. He knew special when he saw it. This is a clinic that attracts the best because Kevin's legend continues to...

Kevin was a classmate of mine in veterinary school . He had his locker next to mine for our 4 years in school. He was always cheerful and kind. I have thought about him many time in the last year . I share my good thoughts about him with his family . I am so sorry for your loss . He was a very special person and will be remembered forever.

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. May that wonderful treasure fill your heart with love and bring you a measure of peace. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mollie never knew a kinder, gentler doctor over the past 26 years. We will miss Dr. Ruch.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Ruch's passing. Those associated with Elmbrook Vet Clinic have lost a great man and doctor; our sympathy to everyone there and to his family and other friends. I was looking forward to seeing him at our cockatoo's checkup and telling him she laid an Easter egg (actually laid it on Easter Sunday). He will be greatly missed in many ways. Praying for peace and comfort to all who knew and loved him, and who are missing him deeply now.

I was shocked when my husband, Bob, told me yesterday that Dr. Ruch had died suddenly April 6th. Bob found out when he called yesterday to make an appointment for our Doberman, Saida. Dr. Ruch had been recommended to us because of his love of Dobermans. Dr. Ruch would always let Saida lick his face when she came in to see him. We knew that she was always in good hands. We saw him this past spring and had the pleasure of meeting his son, Tyler. Tyler shares the same love of animals as his...
