It was a sad day to hear of Kirby's passing. He was my daddy's, Bill Neese, best friend until the day he left this earth in 1985. I'll always remember Kirby bringing me and my brother, Jesse, c-rations every time he came over.

Kirby was a humble man for one who served and suffered for our country in WWII on D-Day. He raised his family to be good and faithful citizens and they loved their Daddy and Granddaddy for the values he instilled in them. Quick with humor and a thoughtfully considered bit of advice, he was a joy to be around. My grandson Jackson and Kirby were almost 90 years apart and they loved their time together. I loved him as a Father and valued him as a friend, but I could never beat him at checkers....
