Not sure what to say?

Farewell Smitty...you are missed

I worked with Kirk at Fortis in Woodbury, MN. He was such a smart, kind-hearted, respected gentleman. We loved working with him! He was a lot smarter than us and he could have had an attitude when he explained some pricing concept to us but he never, never did! He was patient, fun and such a good father. I always thought he had the priorities just right. He worried about the important things and never sweated the small stuff. To hear he was gone took many people in Minnesota breath away....

Kirk loved contests and we all loved watching him win! When we moved to Montana,BC/BS used to have executive get togethers with lots of games. I remember Kirk winning all of them. He won the intellectual and the athletic contests. We would always go home with our arms full of prizes and Kirk would be grinning from ear to ear sharing past wins with the kids...
Kirk will be missed by many and we will all cherish his fun loving spirit!

Kirk was a wonderful teammate and doubles partner back in the early 80s. He and I played many matches representing Bethel Univ and went on to win a tournament at Red Wing MN in June of 1982. That year we were ranked third among doubles teams in the Northwestern division of the USTA. Kirk was an ideal teammate and doubles partner. His work ethic was second to none. He was a model good sport who will be greatly missed.
