Kyle CALLOWAY Obituary

CALLOWAY, Kyle 29, of Tucson, AZ, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 after a fatal accident. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, FL to Eddie and Nancy Calloway. Kyle graduated from the University of Iowa in December 2009. While at Iowa he was a Hawkeye football player where he started for 37 games and twice earned all-Big Ten honors. After graduation Kyle was drafted by the NFL where he had a very short career. After football Kyle worked as a manager for a couple of major corporations. For enjoyment and release of day to day stress Kyle spent many hours hiking and running on the mountain trails around Tucson. Kyle is survived by his brother, Kevin (Anamarky); niece, Kamila and his parents. His wonderful spirit, joy and talents was celebrated in the high desert where he loved to hike. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

Kyle was a neat kid with a big heart. I had him in my AFROTC Class and he told me he was a Air Force BRAT. Fast Forward 2 years later...I had a friend who had a 3 star football player moving back from Germany (military move) in his Senior year. Having spoke to Kyle on a few occasions and hearing about how he dealt with moves and his sports I asked him to send my friends son an email....No questions asked Kyle said give me the address and sent the email.and made him feel at ease about his move. He even offered advice and gave the fellow BRAT his phone number if he wanted to talk. He did make a difference in many people's lives and I am deeply sorry that he has left us too soon. Kyle's family and friends are in my prayers.
